Participate in an international workshop on (Q)SAR models
DTU National Food Institute is organizing the 20th international (Q)SAR workshop - on models for predicting the environmental or health-hazardous properties of chemical substances. The workshop will be held on 5-9 June 2023 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
PFAS found in organic eggs in Denmark
The environmental contaminant PFAS has been found in organic egg yolks in Denmark. Especially children who eat many organic eggs are at risk. The substances are most likely transferred via fishmeal, which is included in feed for the hens. This was found in a study from the DTU National Food Institute carried out in collaboration with the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration.

Professor Hans Verhagen is new adjunct professor at DTU National Food Institute. He has worked on and promoted risk-benefit assessment as a research area over two decades and will bring new ideas and projects to the institute.

New research on the cost of air and noise pollution
An improved understanding of air and noise pollution and their impact on health equity and wellbeing is the aim of a new European research project. DTU National Food Institute is part of the project in a consortium of 17 partners from 10 European countries and the United States.

Production of Danbo cheese can be accelerated with a new solution
Today, a Danish Danbo cheese takes at least a month to mature at the dairy. Researchers from DTU National Food Institute have developed a new method that can reduce ripening time by 3-4 weeks, thus making the production faster, cheaper and more sustainable.
