The National Food Institute, Technical University of Denmark invites to Jacob Günther Schmidt’s PhD defence on, which effects tissue damage in fish produced in aquaculture have on the eating quality and how wound healing proceed. The defense takes place 29 November 2013 at 13.00.
Carps and rainbow trout are important production animals. Fish produced in aquaculture are subjected to potential tissue damage from a range of sources such as conspecific biting or handling.
In his PhD, Jacob Günther Schmidt from the National Food Institute, Technical University of Denmark, has investigated, which effects tissue damage in carps and rainbow trout have on the eating quality. He has also investigated the molecular effects of wounding on skin and muscle in the two species.
