Laboratory managers responsible for oversight, prioritisation and implementation of AMR surveillance can now take a six-hour course designed for those who need to understand what whole-genome sequencing (WGS) can contribute to AMR surveillance efforts.
The course covers the fundamental principles of whole-genome sequencing (WGS) as well as how WGS data can be translated into insights that support decision-making and practice.
The aim is to enable participants to assess why, when and how WGS should be used as part of AMR surveillance, and how to make a compelling case to decision makers for incorporating sequencing into a laboratory’s work.
The course was developed in collaboration with The Open University in the UK and funded by the UK International Development Fleming Fund.
