The food market is constantly evolving. This is particularly true for composite foods, where new ingredients, variants and product categories are introduced at a rapid pace. With the updated analyses, Frida now provides a more current and detailed picture of, among other things:
- Energy drinks, which have seen a significant increase in sales in Denmark in recent years. According to figures from Euromonitor International, sales reached 72 million liters in 2025 - more than nine times the volume in 2010.
- Salad dressings, pesto, mayonnaise and remoulade, where updated analyses of both classic and more recently established products offer a more precise picture of nutrient content. For several of these products, the energy and fat content is now lower than in previous years.
A total of 290 samples were collected from Danish supermarkets. The samples were selected and analysed to reflect, as accurately as possible, the products consumers encounter in shops. The analyses cover a broad spectrum of nutrients - including macronutrients, fatty acids, amino acids, vitamins and minerals - and were carried out as accredited analyses in accordance with ISO 17025.
See the nutrient content of the foods:
- Energy drinks: 3 variants (with sugar, sugar-free and combined sugar/sweeteners)
- Pesto: 3 variants (basil, sun-dried tomato and red pepper)
- Salad dressings: 6 variants (crème fraîche, Caesar, Thousand Island, honey/mustard, garlic dressing and Italian)
Mayonnaise and remoulade: 2 classic and 2 fat-reduced variants, as well as four new types of mayonnaise (chilli mayo, aioli, burger dressing and plant-based mayonnaise)
The updated data are now available at frida.fooddata.dk. Frida (v. 5.5) currently includes data for 1,381 foods. Each food item has been analysed for up to 150 nutrients, including energy, fat and fatty acids, carbohydrates, protein and amino acids, as well as vitamins and minerals.
