Thursday 08 October 2026
The partners behind the Danish surveillance programme DANMAP, the DTU National Food Institute and Statens Serum Institut (SSI), invite you to a seminar presenting the latest findings on antibiotic use and antibiotic resistance in Denmark based on data from 2025. The seminar will be held in person at SSI, with a limited number of places available, as well as online.
The surveillance programme monitors antibiotic use in animals and humans as well as the occurrence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in animals, food and humans in Denmark. The new report presents data from 2025.
The 30th anniversary will be marked with a look back at the development of the DANMAP programme over the past three decades and a look ahead at how the programme can continue to evolve in a changing world.
New report format and competition
From this year, the Summary DANMAP report will change format and will include more cross-sectoral perspectives (i.e. surveillance in humans, animals, food and other areas), with a stronger focus on One Health and on the integrated interpretation of antibiotic use and resistance data.
The DANMAP team is therefore looking for a new name for Summary DANMAP that better reflects the report’s updated content.
The winner will be announced at the DANMAP seminar.

The seminar will be held in Danish until 11.30 and thereafter in English.

Since 1995, the DANMAP programme has monitored the use of antibiotics in humans and animals in Denmark, as well as the occurrence of antibiotic resistance in bacteria from animals, humans and food. DANMAP is one of the world’s longest-running surveillance programmes for antibiotic use and resistance.
