Food and nutrient recommendations

The nutrition recommendations and food-based dietary guidelines are important tools for the authorities and health professionals for preventing diseases related to overweight/obesity and lifestyle. By advocating the benefits of a healthy diet they may help the general population improve their dietary habits.

Research at the National Food Institute includes extensive compilation and evaluation of scientific evidence for food-based dietary guidelines and nutrient recommendations in the context of the Danish dietary habits.
