Cellular agriculture involves, among other things, using microorganisms and cell cultures to develop new foods and ingredients. At the conference, researchers and companies will present the latest knowledge in the field and discuss the opportunities and challenges involved in translating research into practical solutions.
The programme covers topics including microbial cell factories, precision fermentation, animal cell cultivation, the utilisation of side streams and the sustainability of novel protein-rich foods.
‘Cellular agriculture is a rapidly developing field of research. The conference gives us an opportunity to share new knowledge across disciplines and discuss how research can contribute to the development of the food of the future,’ says Senior Researcher Claus Heiner Bang-Berthelsen from DTU National Food Institute.
He is a member of the conference’s scientific committee, which has been responsible for the scientific review and selection of the submitted contributions to the programme.
The conference will take place at Lund City Hall on 8 - 9 October 2026 and is aimed at researchers, companies and other organisations with an interest in cellular agriculture.
