International conference on AI, data and food safety

DTU National Food Institute invites you to an international conference hosted by the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES) in Maisons-Alfort, near Paris, with the option to participate online. The conference brings together researchers, experts and public authorities from around the world for two days of presentations and scientific exchange on AI, data and new approaches to surveillance, detection and risk assessment in food safety, animal health and plant health.

The conference is organised by ANSES in collaboration with the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), the National Institute of Food and Drug Safety Evaluation (NIFDS) in the Republic of Korea, and DTU National Food Institute.

 

Provisional programme

New data-driven tools offer opportunities to detect and manage risks earlier and more accurately. At the same time, these developments place new demands on the quality and reliability of the results.

The first day will focus on the opportunities and limitations of AI, as well as the role of data and omics technologies.

On the second day, the focus shifts to practical applications, including:

• surveillance and early detection
• risk assessment and predictive modelling
• experiences with implementation across food safety, animal health and plant health

The conference will conclude with a roundtable discussion on what can realistically be expected from AI in risk analysis over the next 5–10 years.

The programme features keynote lectures, scientific sessions and discussions with experts from the organising institutions as well as universities and public authorities across Europe, Asia and the United States. A preliminary programme is now available.
