Risk-benefit assessments

The National Food Institute has expertise in producing risk benefit assessments that objectively assess the balance between the positive and negative effects of a food in order to determine whether it is has an overall health benefit or poses a risk. Risk-benefit assessments can also be used to assess the impact of fortification, new production forms, dietary recommendations and changes in diet. The National Food Institute conducts research into ways of improving the methods used to carry out risk-benefit assessment.
