My work is in the area of microbiological food safety, mainly occurrence, distribution and control of foodborne pathogens, antimicrobial resistance and disease burden.

My main area of expertise is to collate, validate and analyse data; to provide datasets, reports and risk assessments for Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (FVST)  and European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). A special interest is to develop excel-based tools for risk assessment, risk ranking and risk management proposes. Currently, I am data manager and co-editor of the annual report on use of antimicrobial agents and the occurrence of resistance in bacteria from food, animals and humans in Denmark (DANMAP); responsible for reporting national data on antimicrobial resistance to EFSA; DTU project manager for case-by-case risk assessments in the national control program for risk assessments of Salmonella and Campylobacter in Danish and imported fresh meat;, and the Danish representative in EFSAs Emerging Risks Exchange Network and Network for Zoonoses Monitoring Data relating to antimicrobial resistance.
