Division of Risk Assessment and Nutrition

The Division of Risk Assessment and Nutrition provides scientific advice within the area of food and health and conducts inter-disciplinary research aimed at further developing risk assessments as well as to gain knowledge about the association between health and diet, meal habits and physical activity.

The division’s research is inter-disciplinary and involves food safety as well as nutritional issues. The aim of our research is to further develop risk assessment and to gain knowledge about the association between food intake and eating habits and health, including the effect of interventions.

The division hosts monitoring data on nutrition, food chemistry and microbiology, including data generated by the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration. It is our ambition to increase the use of monitoring data for research purposes. For example, monitoring data combined with data from surveys on food intake can be used in exposure assessment and effect assessment of cumulative intake, using probabilistic as well as deterministic modelling for different population age groups.
