Research Group for Nutrition and Health Promotion

The Research Group for Nutrition and Health Promotion conducts population surveys that identify societal challenges in relation to Danes’ diet and lifestyle habits. The Groups also develops and documents initiatives that promote healthy eating habits, and prepares the scientific basis for dietary advice and nutritional recommendations with a focus on preventing lifestyle diseases.

The group conducts a number of population surveys with the aim to:

  • Identify the societal challenges in relation to Danes' diets and life style habits behaviors (diet, smoking, alcohol, physical activity),
  • Increase knowledge about the importance of the diet's composition for health and disease prevention
  • Contribute with data to the Institute's risk assessments.

The group conducts interventions to document initiatives and structural conditions that effectively promote healthy eating habits and health behavior in different population segments. In addition, the group prepares the scientific background for dietary advice and nutritional recommendations focusing on prevention of lifestyle diseases.
