Listen to a new podcast on Bugs, Drugs and Genomes

The Research Group for Global Capacity Building (GloCaB) at the DTU National Food Institute is launching “Bugs, Drugs, and Genomes”, a new science podcast that brings to life the stories behind antimicrobial resistance.  

The podcast launches on 27 May 2026, and new episodes are released every Wednesday at 12:00 (CEST).

GloCaB works to strengthen global antimicrobial resistance surveillance by supporting laboratory capacity for whole-genome sequencing across Europe, Africa, and Asia, in collaboration with international partners. 

Whether you’re a student, a professional, or just curious, you can look forward to:

• Insights into how antimicrobial resistance emerges, spreads, and impacts people worldwide.
• Behind-the-scenes perspectives on global health defense, from international surveillance to outbreak detection.
• Career perspectives from early and late-career researchers on what it’s really like to work with microbes and antimicrobial resistance.
• Fun microbiology segments, where experts share their favourite bacteria and explain what makes them fascinating – and sometimes frustrating.
