Conference on global solutions to food safety challenges

Food, fish and agriculture Food safety

The GoFood conference will focus on global solutions to some of the world's most pressing food safety challenges. The National Food Institute, Technical University of Denmark, is co-organizer of the conference, which will be held in Sweden and Denmark from 31 May to 2 June 2017. The deadline for submitting abstracts for presentations is April 15.

Food fraud, antimicrobial resistance, combatting disease-causing microorganisms and sustainable food production are just some of the many food safety challenges that countries all over the world are facing. Given the globalization of the food trade and because bacteria know no borders it is necessary to find global solutions to tackle these challenges.

A conference being held in Sweden and Denmark from 31 May to 2 June 2017 under the name GoFood will focus on how the latest scientific advancements and technologies can be used to find global solutions, which can enhance food safety globally.

The conference is a follow up to the first conference on global food safety and technology, which was held in 2016. It is being organized by the newly established Joint Centre of Excellence in Food Safety together with collaborators around the world. The centre was founded by the universities: Lund University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, University of Bologna and the National Food Institute.
