Keywords Nitrosamines | Perfluorinated compounds | Food safety | Acrylamide | LC-MS | Dietary Exposure

I am M.Sc. from the University of Copenhagen, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences 1983 and Ph.D. in environmental chemistry from the University of Southern Denmark , Department of Chemistry 1997. Previous employments include positions as researcher at Århus University, National Environmental Research Institute 1985-1998 and as teacher at the University of Copenhagen , School of Pharmaceutical Sciences 1983.

The activities are related to environmental contaminants like organochlorine compounds, brominated flame retardants and fluorinated substances and the processing contaminants acrylamide, furan, nitrosamines and other contaminants. Analytical method developments as well as studies on the formation of the contaminants, the occurrence in the food, possibilities for reduction of processing contaminants and exposure estimates are performed. Cooperates with industry, f.ex. in the EU-project ECSafeSEAFOOD.

The activities also include teaching M.Sc. students in chemical food safety, given scientific advices to the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration.
