Profile

Anne Marie Vinggaard is Professor of Molecular Toxicology at the National Food Institute, Technical University of Denmark. Prior to joining Technical University of Denmark, she was employed for 8 years at University of Copenhagen and for ~4 years at LEO Pharma. AMV conducts research with the overall aim of reducing human health risks affected by chemical exposure. Her research focusses on the molecular mechanisms of toxicity of chemicals and the effects of chemical exposure on humans. The approach of AMV’s research group is holistic and integrated with a focus on combining knowledge obtained from cell-based and computational models with knowledge obtained from animal experiments and epidemiological studies.  AMV’s special field of expertise covers human toxicology, predictive toxicology, cell biology, developmental biology and endocrinology. An author of +100 scientific articles, AMV has particularly been engaged in understanding the long term health impacts of early life exposure to environmental chemicals with a special focus on chemicals with antiandrogenic action and cocktail effects of chemicals. AMV is a European registered toxicologist, has a diploma in leadership and was elected Vice President of the Scandinavian Society of Cell Toxicology in 2015.
