Division of Risk Assessment and Nutrition, DTU National Food Institute, seeks a postdoc to join the research group conducting The Danish National Survey of Diet and Physical Activity. The research group currently plans the next national survey.

The candidate will be responsible for the design and the development of survey questions using behavioral and social science perspectives of nutrition and related public health issues. Furthermore the candidate will take part in the planning, implementation, data handling and analyses as well as publication of results from the surveys. The position focuses on the social aspects of the Danish food culture, associations between social background and dietary habits, physical activity and health. The position also includes advisory tasks for authorities and other stakeholders within the area of diet, physical activity and social determinants. Additionally, the successful applicant must be willing and able to attract external research grants within his/her field of work.

Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent within the area of public health, sociology or social epidemiology.  The candidate must be able to document experience with public health surveys, preferably with regard to diet and physical activity, and with both quantitative and qualitative methods, separately and in combination. Experience in statistical analyses and publication of results is a prerequisite.

The candidate should be able to work cross disciplinary but also independently and be able to build up own research area.

Excellent skills in both Danish and English are required, oral as well as writing.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union.
The period of employment is two years, starting January first 2018.
